There are two ⑪reasons for this ⑫failure.

Although these ⑮technologies can increase ⑯farmland productivity, we are not making ⑰efforts to share ⑱them with small-scale ⑲farmers.

Furthermore, some ⑳groups in rich ㉑nations are against existing ㉒technologies because they are worried that ㉓chemicals used in these ㉔technologies will poison ㉕the Earth’s farmland.

The second ㉖reason is related to new ㉗technology―specifically, new agricultural ㉘biotechnology.

This ㉙biotechnology can play a central ㉚role in improving ㉛health and ㉜nutrition.

But the same ㉝groups that are attacking existing ㉞technologies are also attacking agricultural ㉟biotechnology, making ㊱it difficult for the new ㊲techniques to be introduced to developing ㊳countries.
